Known as one of the most regal and luxurious train rides in India – Palace on Wheels is true to its name. The plush decor, the warm hospitality and scrumptious food, along with the opportunity to see some of the most amazing destinations; this sums up your experience on the Palace on Wheels Train.Â
The most important thing to keep in mind is that the ticket is inclusive of everything – meals, excursions, on-board accommodations – you simply have to show up and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience. The train covers more than 3000 km over the eight-day trip. Here’s what you will experience once you board the Palace on Wheels:Â
Your Personal Coach Accommodation
This is where you will be spending most of your time in the train, maybe sleeping or relaxing while enjoying the outside views. Now, this is not the usual Indian railway coach. Expect well-appointed, regally styled two-or three beds in a lavish coach. Thereâs a mini pantry as well, and an attached bathroom.
The most lavish of all cabins are the deluxe and super deluxe coaches. They are draped in the richest fineries and silk decor. They are built to suit the taste of the royal kings and you will most definitely feel like one if you stay here!Â
Food and Dining
The train has two restaurants – which offer some of the best Continental and Chinese cuisines. The interiors of both the restaurants, called Maharaja and Maharani, have a royal feel to it. Thereâs also a well-stocked bar so you can enjoy some of the finest scotch, wine and cocktails on board.
Adding to your comfort are spas and gymnasium on the train! You can enjoy some down time at the library or just watch TV. Needless to say, thereâs wifi on board as well.
This involves seven nights on the Palace on Wheels which starts from Safdarjung Railway Station, Delhi. The warm welcome by the staff on train, will makes you feel like a royal. Guests are then taken towards the bar area, where there are complimentary drinks and champagne.
During the next seven days, the guests get to see guided tours in Rajasthan cities of Jaipur, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, and Jodhpur. Â
So what are you waiting for? Plan your trip and gear up for the adventure of a lifetime!Â
